MINUTES OF ST. LEONARD’S WARD PANEL MEETING
HELD ON MONDAY 11TH JUNE, 2008 AT 7 P.M.

Acceptance of Previous Minutes: Minutes accepted as read
Police Update:
Introduction of PS Louise Miller, PCSO Jed Scarry, PCSO Beata Krapkova and PCSO Philip Munt to the St Leonards Team. There is a new A23 team made up of 1 Police Sergeant and 8 Police constables all assigned to patrol the A23 in Streatham relieving our team to patrol off the High Road to some degree. There ar new Neighbourhood Watches set up in Barrow Road and Abbotswood Road SW16. Mounted Branch and Wandsworth Park police patrolled Tooting Common in a combined operation. Two brothels were shut down in Norfolk House Road and Gleneldon Road. The Territorial Support Group is assisting with burglary patrols on the ward as a combined initiative. Two burglary suspects identified by our SNT are subject to ongoing enquiries.

Gleneagles Road and the Dip:
Councillor Bennett referred to an e-mail fro a member of the public regarding the congregation by somali men in the Dip. PS Miller provided a response. Members of the public asked for dog patrols and other measures to be introduced; Insp Duffy provided a response. Nicole White (Lambeth ASB officer) was introduced at this point)
ASB Issues and High Road licensed premises:
Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and early hours of the morning – fighting, sex assaults, littering, urinating, etc. around the EDO Bar and Kitchen. Insp Duffy provided a response.
Magdalen Estate issue:
Cllr Bennett: issue had been dealt with.
Vandalism on DeMontfort Road:
No one in attendance to provide details. PS Miller provided a response.
Parking illegally in Broadlands Ave: Cllr Bennett and PS miller provided a response
Priorities:
Street Drinking around Streatham Green and St Leonards Churchyard
Theft from and of Automobiles
Burglary
Anti-social behaviour around High Road pubs
AOB:
Cycle routes in Potters Garden, Estreham Road and Conyers Road (Cllr Palmer to take up). Street drinkers by the synagogue – PS Miller and Cllr Bennett respond.
