Your Ward Panel Vice-Chair and Secretary have just spent an interesting evening with representatives of the 72 Neighbourhood Watches in Lambeth hosted by Karen Hunn the Met Police Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator.
Within our own St Leonard's Ward there are some 7 Watches, run by local volunteers in the streets where they live. They share information on what the local policing issues are, information and intelligence passed to us by the police, and in return they feed information back to the local Safer Neighbourhood Teams.
This partnership is vital for all of us in making policing in the area work well. It also helps to build community and show the 'baddies' out there that we care about where we live and we're reclaiming the streets back for ourselves! Perhaps you might also like to throw a Street Party - we can help you here too!
If you are interested in getting involved, please us the Contact Us form for more information on how to set up a Watch or how to get involved in the wider Borough initiative.
