I was wondering what the consensus is on posting up Crime Statistics for our ward ? These could possibly include statistics for Public Transport. I also wonder whether this is the right forum for suggesting a Neighbourhood Watch drive . I would be interested in hearing other people's opinions on such matters.

There is a strong consensus
There is a strong consensus for doing this. However the stats are quite a sensitive topic for the police themselves thus we're working with the team to create a timely and useful communications system for sharing out information including statistics. It will probably be done on the basis that folk will have to login to the site to access this, and may even be restricted to panel members who can then disseminate information to folks in their area. But nothing has been decided one way or the other. What do others think about this?
Edit: Borough-wide crime statistics can be found by clicking here. They compare all boroughs in London and detail year-to-date statistics on most classes of crime in each including Lambeth. The Data tables at the top are a useful source for breaking the stats down into monthly figures by class and by borough.
Hi, First, well done with
Hi,
First, well done with your website. It will doubtless be a really useful tool for you panel's work.
If you want to look at long-run statistics for the borough, we maintain some graphs here: http://www.lambethcpcg.org.uk/32682/36013.html , where there are also some easy links into the Met's website for Ward statistics.
If you visit here: http://www.lambethcpcg.org.uk/32682/index.html , you can view the Borough Commander's monthly powerpoint reports wrapped up with a detailed monthly statistical report, which includes details of such things as detection rates, response times and such like. If you're really keen, you can read the monthly minutes, which often give some flesh to the statistical bones.
In respect of Gleneldon Resident's request, note that these are all MPS statistics. They do not include British Transport Police, who are responsible for the under- and overground railways. I'm not sure if crimes on buses would be attributed to the particular ward in which they occur but will try and find out and get back to you.
Good luck with your work,
Jim Toohill,
Hon Comptroller,
CPCG for Lambeth
PS (This may be a double post, in which case apols - somehow I managed to post prior to registering, so that may have disappeared into the ether or still be here somewhere!)
