Anyone can give information to the police on this site. The way to do this is to go to the e-mail form, select the Safer Neighbourhood Team (already selected automatically), fill in the form and click "Send e-mail". Now the trick to doing this anonymously is to fill in your name (or a name, maybe only a first name or a nickname), enter an e-mail address (can be any e-mail address or a made up one), type in a subject (a short description of your information) and type in the info in the box titled message.

All well and good, except, if you're not going to leave your name, what you do want to do is put in some extra info convincing the police that it's good info. They need a reason to take it seriously and that you know what you're talking about so that your info is used. If they can't verify your story with you then they have to have a way of verifying some things in the story. For this reason it's always best to enter as much as you can including a thing or two they can check up on themselves.

We don't encourage people to use our form this way but to solve crimes like schoolboy murders we're happy to get the info to the police. Do what you have to to get it to them. Just give it, please!
